Horseback Riding

Breezy Bluff
Breezy Bluff was established in 1983 as a safe, fun, economical place to learn how to ride horses. We are located just 12 minutes south of Bloomington and can offer year-round horse activities including weekly lessons, one-time lessons, Spring Break Day Camp, Summer Day Camp, and adult education. We have homeschooler discounts and music/dress/language standards. No smoking is allowed on the farm, and you can be sure you or your child will get top-notch instruction in horse riding, grooming and care. Hunter Oaks Equestrian Center
Under the ownership of homeschoolers Tom and Sandy Mercier, Hunter Oaks Equestrian Center est. 1989 is an educational & fun riding center for the entire family. Hunter Oaks is located just west of Normal, IL on 150 scenic acres.

Private lessons $40. Semi-private/group lessons may be arranged after basic skills are acquired. Weekly lessons with instructors Laurie French, Lindsey Poole, Jennifer Smith (all are 4-H FAIR supervisors), plus schooling shows and many special clinics in dressage and jumping with guest instructors.

Homeschooler Special: 2 junior riders may share a lesson, split the $40 lesson fee, and use the same horse. Both will participate in grooming, care of horse, and riding. Really horse-crazy kids may wish to join our U.S. Pony Club Riding Center. Pony Club is an international organization for horse enthusiasts up to age 21. Badge program, clinics, ratings, local & regional events. All study sessions are led by our three instructors, plus numerous upper level Pony Club members. Ask your instructor for more details.
